Orlando, Fl – Kerry Diotte has dedicated more than three decades of his life to public service, first as an award-winning journalist, then as an Edmonton City councilor, and most recently as Conservative Member of Parliament for Edmonton Griesbach from 2015-2021.

During his time in Parliament Kerry was a vice-chair of the Canada-United States Inter-Parliamentary Group and a member of the Canadian Branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Group, the Canada-Germany Inter-Parliamentary Group, the Canadian NATO Parliamentary Association, the Canadian Section of ParlAmericas, the Canada-United Kingdom Inter-Parliamentary Association, the Canada-Europe Parliamentary Association and the Canadian Delegation to the Organization for the Security and Co-Operation in Europe Parliamentary Assembly.

He served in the Official Opposition Conservatives as Deputy Shadow Cabinet Minister for National Revenue and Deputy Shadow Cabinet Minister for Public Services and Procurement.

In the 43rd Parliamentary session, Kerry was a member of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development.

Born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, and educated at Ottawa’s Carleton University, Kerry enjoyed a long and successful career as a journalist, working in radio, TV, magazines, and newspapers.

For several years, Kerry was a popular, award-winning columnist at the Edmonton Sun.

That career evolved into his own election to Edmonton city council in 2010, where he was renowned for communicating with his constituents and fighting against wasteful spending and high taxation.

Kerry has taught journalism, authored a book about Edmonton’s history, and was a national director of the Canadian Association of Journalists
