Fayetteville, NC – We could not have said it any better. While we can not speak about other bases this is spot on for Fort Bragg.

****** Episode 57 of the 18th Airborne Corps podcast is out. This episode describes the process by which Congress will rename Fort Bragg. Congress has directed that all 10 US military bases named after Confederate Soldiers must be renamed.

In this episode, Colonel Scott Pence, Fort Bragg garrison commander, describes how he is working with the Renaming Commission, an 8-member panel appointed by Congress to recommend new names for the 10 American military posts named after Confederate Soldiers. Find out the criteria by which a new name will be selected and how you can submit a proposal.

Whether you live in Fayetteville or the surrounding community or are a former Fort Bragg Soldier elsewhere in the country, Colonel Pence and the Renaming Commission want your insight and feedback.

Also: Next Tuesday, September 14th, the Fayetteville Mayor Pro Tem, Kathy Jensen, will host a town hall on this subject at the Fast Transit Center at 502-598 Franklin Street. Colonel Pence will attend to engage with the community and hear your feedback.

All the info you’ll need ahead for that town hall is in this 15-minute podcast:
