Tuesday, Rep. Tom Cotton( R-AR) appeared on the Tucker Carlson show on Fox News to discuss his call for IRS to investigate the Southern Poverty Law Center, for it’s tax-exempt status.
“The SPLC uses it’s hate map to stigmatize their opponents. It is fine if you don’t agree with people, but you can’t stigmatize them as a hate group and then go pedal that to the media,” Cotton said.
“I am calling for the IRS to investigate them because serial , repeated, defamation against your political opponents is not a tax-exempt purpose,” he said.
“Talk about misusing funds, Morris Dees was paid $400,000 a year to do nothing other than consistently sexually harass young women who worked for the Southern Poverty Law Center,” said Cotton.
