Monday, the US Department of Justice sided with previous findings by lower courts, Texas district court, that former President Barack H. Obama’s signature policy, the “Affordable Care Act” or Obamacare is unconstitutional and therefore Invalid.
On the same day, the Federal government posted enrollment numbers saying 11.4 million enrolled this year under was down 500K from 2018.
Democrats believed that the fight this week was to save the pre-existing conditions, however, the DOJ has determined that the entire act is unconstitutional.
Democrats view this as an escalation of Trump administration’s previous position, which only argued for the invalidation of a” pre-existing condition and other consumers protections”.
Continuing to make the highly unfavorable act their cornerstone, Democrats are still trying to save Obamacare.
